Requirements to change the name of the electricity contract
In addition to being up to date with payments and having no debts, you must present at the C.F.E. the original and a copy of the following documents:
Identification of the new owner and a copy of the current owner. R.F.C. of the new holder
A photograph of the meter reading
Property accreditation document: lease, property, deeds, etc.
If the reason is due to the death of the owner, the death certificate must be included.
And finally, a letter addressed to the Federal Electricity Commission, explaining the reason for the name change.

A brief description of the reason for the name change
Containing the name of the current owner and the name of the new owner of the service
Service number (comes at the top of your receipt) and address
Full name and signature of the current receipt holder.
How long does the change take and does it cost?
The change of holder of the electricity contract is done in approximately 5 minutes and you will be given a receipt, however, the new name will be reflected until your next payment arrives, 1 to 2 months, depending on the frequency with which it arrives the electricity bill.
